Rowlux Illusion Film is an amazing optical illusion material made by Rowland Technologies. They mold colored plastic sheets with thousands of tiny lenses which reflect and refract light in a variety of ways creating the illusion of depth, color, and motion. These patterns are made with a Moire design. Moire means having the appearence of water. While they are 3d like a hologram or lenticular image, they are based on differend optical principles. They appear to be several inches deep (somewhat like a wave of liquid, frozen in time) but are actually about the thickness of a post card. While the basic pattern is referred to as Moire, the pattern does not repeat so each sheet is unique. Also, each sheet will look different depending on the lighting and your point of view. They can easily be cut with scissors or a razor blade for crafts like scrapbooking or placed anywhere you want to add an eye catching shot of color. Each sheet is 8 inches by 10 inches.
